five things...

this fridays favorites are...

I am thinking of building a few of these to work into my craft show display.  i love the rustic look.  i'm thinking i'll add nails to hold necklaces...yes??
or better yet...does anyone have any they want to give me : )

i pinned this photo on pinterest a while back, and i just keep going back to it!!  isn't it so beautiful?  we live in a townhouse {i thought it was the right thing to buy} so we don't have an area for a hammock.  oh but if we did, this is where you would find me!!

oh my gosh!!  i haven't made these yet, but don't think for one second that i don't plan to as soon as wedding season is over {i'm busy!!}. are you already drooling??  well i am!!

1. the photograph is obviously beautiful. 2. i love this quote!!  it's so, so true!!

rain
we've been having pop up storms this week!!  i love summertime storms.  the chill they bring, the water, the thunder, and the out of control lightning!!  i snapped this photo in the grocery store parking lot yesterday, just to remind me that God controls all of the out of control.  He is always there, to bring you through the storm.
ps...this puddle was a good 4in deep!!

most of this weeks favorites are pins from my boards.  there are just so many wonderful things in this world, and i'm so glad pinterest keeps them all in one place!!  if you are on pinterest leave me a link to your boards and i'll follow!!

i've been thinking about offering packaging supplies in my shop greythread.  is that something anyone would be interested in?  such as kraft boxes, bakers twine, and washi tape...since everyone seems to really love these items!!

Family Day...

This past Sunday we went kayaking with my family.  It was so much fun!!  For most of us it was our first time kayaking.  But of course for my husband it was no big deal!  He is pretty much awesome at everything, except buying me everything i want  everything : )

For those of who have been thinking of doing this, it was so much fun!!  We went through Appalachian Outfitters on the Chestatee River.

We were only missing one set from the family, they were on a birthday trip.  These photos are from the start of the trip...before people started getting stuck and falling in the water.

My mom and I shared a kayak, which I though was probably going to be a bad idea!!  Since the Chestatee River isn't known for its super powerful rapids, it turned out just fine sharing.  Plus we were able to talk the whole time while the others weren't.

Now this is where it starting getting fun!!  My mom and I ended up getting stuck on a stump, then my dad and Kasey ran into us.  I'm 99% sure I flipped Kasey's kayak over on top of him...sorry dude : )  Once he flipped out of the way my dad came cruising in, filled his kayak with the rushing water, flipped as well!!  Once it was over it was hilarious!!

Don't worry we got payback!!  This is my mom and I, rammed into a tree!!

I had to promise my mom turtles to get her to go!!  If you follow me on instagram then you know she loves wildlife!!  Kiersten (Nella's BF) took lots of photos for her!!  There were so many turtles!!!

Once we finished the 6 mile course we headed to The Back Porch Oyster Bar in Dahlonega.  I hadn't eaten here in such a long time.  Turns out they moved and the food didn't seem the same to me...maybe I'm wrong.

Next we headed to Connie's Ice Cream where we snapped some intense ice cream eating!!  haha so sorry ladies : )

I had an Oreo Delight Sundae!!  And yes it was a delight.  I am not ashamed to say I did not waste one bit of this!!
Chocolate ice cream + oreo + hot fudge + whip cream
OH MY GOSH!!

I love family days like these!!  Even when we fight I still wouldn't trade these moments for anything else in the world!  I pray that everyone has a relationship like this with their family, I know they don't but I hope those of you who don't will change this when it is your time to have a family!!

Do you enjoy kayaking?  I'd love to hear about it!!

Packaging Exchange...

I've been leaving little notes about my packaging exchange recently!!  My partner in this activity was Julia, and now that she has received her package I can post photos!!  YAY!!

We both signed up over at Oh Hello Friend.  It is a wonderfully lovely blog, you should check it out!!  Danni post the cutest things : )  The swap was more about the packaging than the gift, but you weren't suppose to be a cheapo when it came to the gifts either!!  The package limit wasn't to exceed $30, so this post will be great for anyone who thinks you have to spend a fortune to send something nice to a friend or loved one!!

I'll start with my package to her...

This is almost how it looked when she opened it!!  One of her descriptive words was clean.  So I tried to keep the presentation as neat as possible.  She also used the word vintage, so I added a bit of vintage charm to it (vintage floral fabric, lace, twill ribbon).

Side view of some of the goodies!!

One of her favorite things is sewing, so I wanted to send her a few of my favorite notions.  I made up a little mason jar sewing kit, for packaging purposes : ) it included...
a vintage wooden spool
twill ribbon
clothespins
button assortment
pearl pins
The spool probably took the most hunting out of everything, as it turns out they are hard to come by in Gainesville!!  The floral button is trimmed in gold, and my favorite out of all of them!!

When I read that Julia loved Paris I knew I had to order a set of prints from The Paris Print Shop.  Anyway, the postcard prints show more than just the iconic Eiffel Tower.  I sent Julia the White set, in case you are interested!!  I packaged them up in a sleeve I made from chevron + dotted paper, a bit of bakers twine, and lovely lace ribbon.
ps...she is having a sale for the month of Aug.

I'm super lame and I couldn't make myself leave out a little something from my shop!!  I sent her a pair of the mum post earrings.  I just wanted to add a fabric flag to something!

I also added in latte bowls from Anthro, because I love them so much!!  I use these little lovelies for craft shows, snacks, paints, jewelry, beads, more snacks, you name it!!
the attached link is for the 8 set...they have them individually in stores in a wide range of colors.

.......................................................................................................................

Now for Julia's package to me!!

This is how I opened it!!  I, like her, was on my way out when it came.  I, unlike her, couldn't wait so I ran back inside and opened it all up!!  Ahhh...the excitement of a package!!

Oh goodness was I excited!! Glassine bags, washi tape, bakers twine, kraft paper, etc!!!!  This girl knew what she was doing!

Here are some of my goodies!!
A super fun disposable camera
stamped notecards
bakers twine
a pencil
beautiful stickers
a maple flavored pop.  (Richard thinks she sent that for him)
and a few others

Because I was way to eager and opened them while it was rainy, I didn't get any great photos of Julia's packaging!!  I know, I know!  But I did get a photo of this sweet little jar of Strawberry Rhubarb, isn't it packaged so lovely?  She was a genius and sent me items from Vermont!!  How cool is that.  If I do another exchange I will totally copy this idea with Georgia goodies!!

She also sent me Strawberry lip balm.  I know this was more about packaging than the gifts, but I had forgotten how much I love this stuff!!  I am so happy she sent this back into my life!!

She also sent Lucy and Scottie something!!  Wasn't that super sweet!!  They loved their homemade treats!  Lucy made a ridiculous mess though : )

This exchange was so much fun!!  I am so happy I was partnered with someone great!  I hope she doesn't feel the opposite.  Julia, Thank you so much for making my first ever package exchange awesome!!  I look forward to doing more in the future!

Have any of you ever participated in an exchange like this?  What was your favorite part?

If is no secret if you know me, or follow me on pinterest, that I one day want to have my own shop!!  Well Pinterest offers so many pieces of inspiration.  Take this one for example!!  Come on, what's not to love!!

Vintage Goodies

It's also no secret that I am a Junkie collector.  I love stuff!!  I found these super old light bulbs last week at an antique store.  I am so obsessed and keep trying to find things to do with the ones I bought.  Here is the link to this necklace!!

Okay, I am allowed to have a silly favorite right??  I've loved these since the first time I tasted them!!  And I don't even like the candy bar, weird I know!!  But over the past few weeks, probably because I think its 200 degrees here, I can't stop eating them!!  I think I've gained 10 lbs!!

What are you in love with right now?  I'd love to hear about it!!

Five Things...

Only week two and I'm already behind on my five things Fridays!!  I was just so busy.  But here are this weeks favorites!!

10,000 Reasons by Matt Redman
This song is beautiful!!  And I have found myself playing it over and over since the choir sang it in church a few weeks ago!!
ps...for those of you in the Gainesville area, I hear he will be at Free Chapel on Sunday.

Photo shoots
Yesterday I did one with some late summer, early fall styles!!  That is why I was so busy!!  The rest of the photos will be on my Facebook page shortly!!

Bookcases
I have a plan in the works and I have been admiring a few lovely bookcases!  This one is from nowhere other than the store of goodness!!  anthropologie

Succulents
I've been debating on trying my hand at these little beauties!!  I tend to kill all things green though!  I found these lovelies here.

My Bible
I've been reading daily in my Bible for some time, but lately I really feel like this is where I want to spend my time.  I feel like there is something I am suppose to see and do...which is where my last post came from.  I know that whatever is suppose to happen will, as long as I am focused on Him and not what I think I need.

Be concerned about his kingdom and what has his approval.  Then all these things will be provided for you.  Matthew 6:33

These are the five things on my mind that I'm really into this week!!  What are your favorite things?

A lot of Thoughts...

This week an opportunity has presented itself to us.  This may end up as absolutely nothing, but it may end up as something wonderful!!  Keep us in your prayers, and that we are able to spread what we know to be true!!

I want to finish the race I'm running.  I want to carry out the mission I received from the Lord Jesus - the mission of testifying to the Good News of God's kindness.
Acts 20:24

On another note...guess what I have been working on this week??  Bring on fall, because I am so excited!!!  Today, I work on my first clutch!!

What do you hope to see in my shop this fall?
